Hamlet

Glyndebourne Productions Ltd

For Glyndebourne’s production of Hamlet, TAIT Stage Technologies provided eight BT2-200 winches and three BT2-290 winches which were programmed to synchronize the movement of a large scenic ceiling structure. At various moments throughout the show, the ceiling structure transformed the set by moving from the roof to the stage floor. The ceiling structure also lifted performers above the stage for different scenes. Thus, the winches provided were capable of lifting 3,620 kg with the load spread across 20 lines.

‘We’re delighted with the equipment provided to Glyndebourne by TAIT Stage Technologies this summer, which is enabling us to deliver a wonderful bit of stagecraft in our new production of Hamlet. The effect achieved is stunning.’– Darren Elder, Head Flyman
