As the first major professional sports franchise based in Las Vegas and the NHL’s newest expansion team since 2000, the Vegas Golden Knights kicked off their history-making first season at the T-Mobile Arena. The Las Vegas Golden Knights pregame show for home games has an impressive production value. There’s a laser show, pyro effects and a medieval helmet descending from the rafters and landing on the ice. When in place, the Knights emerge from the enormous helmet and take the ice.
To safely fly and control the medieval helmet, TAIT’s automation expertise was required. TAIT Navigator cues 4 Nav Hoists to fly the 2,400-pound helmet 130 ft. above the crowd. During the game, the helmet is locked into a 12 x 12 ft. rig built into the arena’s rafters.
