TAIT creates first ever commercial use of a cable coaster virtual reality simulator at National Geographic’s immersive installation, “Experience Mars,” prior to premiering its groundbreaking TV series “Mars”.
In anticipation of the upcoming premiere of the groundbreaking event series “Mars,” National Geographic Channel unveiled “Experience Mars”, a first-of-its-kind immersive activation which challenged the public to become a “recruit” and experience Mars like never before.
For 4 days, the corner of Canal and Varick streets in New York City were bustling with space enthusiasts, VR bloggers, media influencers and experience seekers vying for a spot to land on Mars. Once inside the “Mars Experience” recruits climbed aboard the cable coaster virtual reality simulator and traversed the landscape of Mars prior to officially touching down.
This is the first example of combining motion with virtual reality with a moving ride in one experience.
