In order to enable the "ship in a bottle" method of construction, with very tight tolerances, we devised some innovative engineering techniques to bring this project to fruition. Our scope also included the creation of a diaphragm wall, for acoustic insulation, and a modular method for installation of the balconies. We also provided a TAIT Staging system (Magdeck) and a Stage Machinery System to enable a 10-ton lifting capacity at the rear of the stage.
In common with our subsequent work on @sohoplace (also with Howarth Tompkins) , the elements were fabricated off-site at our Haverhill facility and then shipped pre-built to the Theatre . This allowed for faster installation on-site.
