With the Palace of Culture venue open for business, we couldn’t replace every element at once, so we scoped an approach which would allow the venue to operate as normal. The work included controls design and machinery upgrades, including adding EtherCAT fieldbus communication and machine safety functions to achieve SIL3 requirements. We provided on-site training to the venue’s technical teams to familiarize them with their new epiQ control consoles.This unified approach to operating both over- and below-stage machinery simplifies control and brings numerous safety benefits.
