Sat atop the iconic 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the Skylift is a new attraction that redefines the guest experience at this iconic part of the New York City skyline. Designed to elevate visitors 30 feet above the Observation Deck on the 70th floor, this 360-degree rotating attraction offers visitors a breathtaking view of Manhattan, creating an experience that’s unlike any other. Commissioned by Tishman Speyer, owners of Rockefeller Center, and brought to life in collaboration with The Hettema Group, TAIT was commissioned to handle the engineering, fabrication, and installation of this incredible project.
The Skylift's unique design features a rotating, open-air platform that offers visitors a full 360-degree panoramic view, providing guests with the immersive experience and sensation of floating above the streets of Manhattan. At night, the Skylift comes alive with over 50,000 LED lights built into its art deco-inspired facade.

The Skylift was engineered to withstand everything the environment might bring, including high winds and seismic forces, with TAIT’s Navigator Automation Platform guaranteeing a smooth and safe ride.

TAIT partnered with THG Creative, who led the concept and design, to turn this vision into a reality for Tishman Speyer and were responsible for transforming a complex and challenging idea into a smooth, elegant attraction. Powered by our proprietary TAIT Navigator Automation Platform, the Skylift combines precision motion with dynamic lighting to deliver an experience that’s both thrilling and visually stunning.
