To honor the UAE’s fallen heroes in a respectful and engaging way, the Wahat Al Karama Memorial in Abu Dhabi embarked on creating a new Visitor Center. This initiative aimed to deepen the connection between visitors and the monument’s powerful message of service and support through an enriched, interactive experience. TAIT was selected to design and produce an environment for the Wahat Al Karama Visitor Center that immerses guests in the values and stories of these national heroes.

The Wahat Al Karama Memorial comprises 31 massive aluminum-clad, inscribed tablets that support each other and symbolize the unity, solidarity, and mutual values of the nation and its military and civil servicemen.

Our team led the concept development and refinement, interior design, and media production for the new Visitor Center. Our responsibilities included the creation of eight interactive exhibits, which were designed to offer visitors a deeper understanding of the memorial’s symbolism. We developed the back-end programming and interactivity for all eight interactive media stations. Visitors of Wahal Al Karama can also create their own bas relief rubbings of their favorite tablet inscriptions, sign the Memorial’s digital guest book, and share a photo of their experience with a message of pride that can be sent digitally and shared on social media.

The Wahat Al Karama Visitor Center has helped the memorial become a cornerstone for cultural education and remembrance in the UAE. By integrating interactive technologies and thoughtful exhibit design, we helped transform the visitor experience into a journey through the nation’s heritage and values.
