When the Niagara Parks Commission asked us to help tell the story and history of Niagara Falls, we were ready to take on the challenge. The original idea for Currents: Niagara’s Power Transformed was to make a compelling multimedia show in a traditional seated theater. We saw more opportunity. We soon convinced our partners to think bigger, expanding the show for the Niagara Parks Commission into an immersive and engaging visitor experience that shows how the power plant transforms water into electricity.

As guests walk the Currents: Niagara’s Power Transformed space, they feel the wonder of hydroelectric power first hand. All elements of the show for the Niagara Parks Commission were designed to create a truly multi-sensory space situated in the heart of a century-old hydroelectric power plant. The epic sight and sound nighttime show is infused with interactive elements, sound, lighting, and even wind to create a captivating and educational experience for guests of all ages and abilities. We were able to repurpose artifacts from the building to help tell the story and build the plant’s history into the show.
Currents: Niagara’s Power Transformed was a unique opportunity to collaborate with our partners and expand on their ideas to create something more, while also breathing new life into a century-old architectural wonder.
