Fernbank Museum of Natural History wanted to inspire urban kids in Atlanta, Georgia, and encourage them to engage with the natural wonders of their region. In collaboration with TAIT, the museum created NatureQuest, an 8,000-square-foot immersive exhibit designed to spark curiosity about the Southeast’s diverse ecosystems.

TAIT was tasked with bringing NatureQuest to life, from initial planning to final installation. We developed a multisensory experience that brings together sound, touch, and visual elements to simulate natural settings. Children can explore replicas of their backyard, forests, beaches, mountains, and underwater scenes – all within the museum’s walls.

We employed advanced lighting and audio designs, enhanced by carefully crafted media, to create an exhibit that’s both educational and engaging. We designed every element – from tactile interactions to ambient sounds – to accurately reflect the region’s natural environments.

NatureQuest at Fernbank Museum transforms educational content into playful hands-on exploration that makes learning intuitive and enjoyable. Thousands of children in Atlanta have gained a deeper understanding of the natural world, and the exhibit has become a benchmark for how museums can captivate young urban audiences and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
