For their monumental return to the stage, My Chemical Romance transformed stadiums into the fictional country of DRAAG – a surreal domain inspired by an old Russian train station and Gerard Way’s offbeat vision. TAIT helped transform each venue into a retro-futurist landscape of punk pageantry and cinematic storytelling.

We brought the concept to life with staging, scenic, and automated elements built at our Lititz facility. The deep red mainstage was framed by custom painted distressed marble portals and a towering MCR banner. A circular grill B-stage was used throughout the performance, and our lifts raised a drum set riser to stage for the band to get closer to the crowd during the second half of their set. We elevated burning panels and integrated pyro troughs in the stage, making the whole set look like it was on fire for their iconic song Famous Last Words. We also created the manually operated cut out “firing squad” display for one of the band’s dystopian bits.

Through close collaboration with the artist and production team, refining every detail of the set’s twisted aesthetic, we shaped an unforgettable environment where narrative immersion met high-impact staging. The end result was a grand and theatrical homecoming for My Chemical Romance and a testament to the artistry and engineering that forged DRAAG’s surreal landscape.
