Canadian safari park Parc Oméga wanted to develop an additional guest experience that attracted visitors after sundown. TAIT collaborated with Parc Oméga to create a groundbreaking nighttime experience, Oméga La Nuit. The project at Parc Omega complemented the beauty of the Canadian wilderness by merging nature with interactive, theatrical technologies for after-dark exploration.

By day, Parc Oméga Safari Park is a beautiful 800-hectare over 1,900 acre safari park where moose, elk, bison, and other Canadian wildlife roam freely in their natural habitat. A first-of-its-kind project for Parc Oméga, Oméga La Nuit allows guests to embark on shadowed wilderness trails guided by soft LED lighting, projection mapping, and interactive audio that enhance the forest in all-new ways.

Visitors start at The Village—the tour’s only human-occupied area—and walk the 1.5-kilometer (0.93-mile) trail through eight uniquely lit zones that mirror the natural environment. Each zone of Parc Omega La Nuit, such as The Swamp with its audio backdrop of frogs and insects, enhances the natural sounds and sights with discreet yet effective audiovisuals. Dramatic projections, such as bull elk battling on an 80-foot-wide screen of conifer trees, heighten the immersive experience.

Oméga La Nuit has redefined nocturnal wildlife tours, demonstrating how technology can respectfully enhance natural experiences. Since its 2019 launch, it has become a key attraction at Parc Oméga, affirming the park’s status as one of Canada’s premier wilderness attractions.
