With the release of his first full-length record in nine years, Zedd and his production team approached TAIT to partner on a tour design that could be functional for a variety of venues and festivals and captured the right ambiance for Zedd’s show. Together, TAIT and the Zedd production team focused on ways to bring the Telos album artwork to life. The challenge became to create an arched video portal and dynamic lighting setup that could give the production the flexibility to create different visual looks that hype up the crowd during Zedd’s high energy performances.

The cover of Telos features a stained-glass window arch, and the artist wanted to portray certain areas of the artwork throughout the show. We utilized a video wall for the window and added a floating structure in front of the screen to enhance the depth and effect. This physical arch structure had light boxes built into the face and was able to hold lights around its perimeter, which could halo the stage or light up the audience. While the window arch served as the backdrop for Zedd, we also created a mixed lighting array that radiated off the arch and brought the vibe for each song. We specially designed the array so it could be replicated in different venues on the tour and the lights themselves could change.

The front of the DJ desk was covered in video to seamlessly integrate with the content that is occurring behind the artist, which allowed him to be immersed in the world they were creating. We also provided a stage with grill deck for lights to shine under the artist and towards the audience.

From the initial creative ideation to the final setup that hit the road, we partnered with the artist and the production to realize the vision for the Telos Tour. The result was a show that amplified his lively setlist and kept fans dancing along for the entire show.
